My name is Paige. I am a graphic designer. I recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in graphic design from ASU. I hope to use my graphic design skills to communicate complicated issues understandably. My strengths are in logo design, brand identity, printed work, and production design.

A long history of environmental racism in South Phoenix paves the road to sustain food deserts. Environmental racism blocks resources for people based on race and income, making it a highly discriminatory practice. Lack of funding, lack of access to fresh food, and lack of cultural awareness contribute to South Phoenix’s food deserts. Living in a food desert is detrimental to human health and is only reinforced when fast food is advertised at a higher frequency than in any other areas of Phoenix.

The exhibit content was curated, designed, crafted, and assembled by me, and it holds an accompanying book on the right side of the exhibit. The maze on the top symbolizes the struggle and complexity of escaping the food desert. The lower half of the exhibit shows the redlined areas in South Phoenix established in the 1930’s and intersects with today’s current food desert areas.
